Mother's Bistro, a staple in Portland brunch scene, serves last meal at old location
PORTLAND, Ore. – On Sunday, Mother’s Bistro served up their last brunch at their old location.
The popular Portland restaurant and bar outgrew its spot on Southwest 2nd Avenue. Last year they announced they'd be moving two blocks away, to the lobby of the embassy suites off 3rd and Pine Street.
The original location remained open under a new name and with a limited menu.
But the bistro announced on Twitter yesterday that their last brunch on Southwest 2nd would be Sunday morning.
“We’ve had an amazing run here at the original Mother’s location,” owner, Lisa Schroeder, previously told KATU News. “However, we’ve officially outgrown the space and in the interest of all of our 75 employees’ comfort and creativity, and to continue to make sure our guests are receiving the highest level of hospitality possible, moving is the right choice. We are excited for this next chapter of Mother’s!”
Schroeder plans to keep the same “Mother’s” charm and menu at their new space, but said they might have some room for change down the road (hinting at new dishes and design elements).
