Murder suspect arrested in deadly SE Portland shooting from February

PORTLAND, Ore. – A 35-year-old was arrested Sunday on a murder charge, accused of shooting and killing a man outside a Southeast Portland bar in mid-February.

Police say 25-year-old Charles Exzavyer Gaines was shot and killed on the night of February 18, 2019 in an incident near the Tik Tok Restaurant and Bar on Southeast Division Street.

Detectives said they connected Javier Omar Solis to the deadly shooting. He was located by the U.S. Marshals Service at a hotel on Northeast Sandy Boulevard.

The marshals received help from Portland Police homicide detectives, the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team, and a K9 unit.

Solis was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on one count of murder and another charge of unlawful use of a weapon.
