PROSPECT, Ore. – Search crews are looking for a 45-year-old reported as missing after he went out mushroom picking in southern Oregon on Sunday evening and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said Christopher Knapp is thought to be either near the town of Prospect, somewhere along Highway 227, or near Tiller in Douglas County.

He’s described as about 6-foot 4-inches tall, with a thin build, and dark “salt and pepper” hair. He usually wears bib overalls or black ski pants, and either a baseball cap or a beanie.

Knapp drives a green 2-door Honda Civic that is missing the front bumper. Investigators say he usually stays on the coast near Florence, but has been in the Prospect area for a few months to pick mushrooms and huckleberries.
