HILLSBORO, Ore. — Officials are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Hillsboro on Saturday.

Authorities say during the early morning hours police were called to Southeast 10th Avenue and Southeast Walnut in Hillsboro about a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a man who had an apparent gunshot wound.

According to Hillsboro Police Department, officers attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say they are not releasing the name or age of the victim because the investigation is still in the initial phases.
