Oregon and Washington agencies hold oil spill drill on Columbia River
PORTLAND, Ore. – First responders from Oregon and Washington held an oil spill drill on the Columbia River Wednesday.
Crews practiced bringing out resources and equipment in the event of a large oil spill.
There were several boats and other crews on the river and on shore deploying booms and other containment methods as though there was a large spill.
The training served to educate agencies and legislators on how a response to a large incident comes together.
