Oregon City home catches fire after reports of explosion in garage

OREGON CITY, Ore. – Firefighters rushed to put out a house fire in Oregon City Tuesday night.

There were no reports of injuries from the fire.

Clackamas Fire crews were called out about 8:30 p.m. to a house on Van Buren Street after the homeowners said they heard an explosion in their garage.

Arriving firefighters saw the garage engulfed in flames, however they managed to control the fire before it spread to the rest of the home.

One of the family’s dogs ran away, but officials said it was found a few blocks away.

No word on what caused the fire.

“Remember if you think your home is on fire quickly exit to a safe area and call 911,” said Clackamas Fire said in an Instagram post.
