Oregon State Police identify man shot and killed by police outside Eugene middle school
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon State Police identified the man shot and killed by officers outside Cascade Middle School Friday morning.
Saturday, police said the deceased man is 30-year-old Charles Frederick Landeros, of Eugene.
The Eugene Police Department responded to a custodial dispute at Cascade Middle School at 10:27 a.m. While officers were escorting the man from the school, they say he “produced a firearm” and officers began struggling with him.
During the struggle, police shot and killed the man outside the school.
No students, staff or officers were harmed.
The Interagency Deadly Force Investigation Team is investigating the incident.
