Passenger suffers 'traumatic injuries' in SE Portland crash, police search for driver
PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are looking for a driver who left a critically injured woman at the scene of a crash in Southeast Portland shortly after midnight Saturday.
The crash was reported at about 12:04 a.m. Sunday in the 3800 block of Southeast 92nd Avenue. Initial reports state the driver was speeding south on the avenue, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into several parked cars before coming to a stop.
First responders learned that the driver walked away after the crash, leaving his two passengers behind in the car.
Cherie Marie Swanson, 34, suffered traumatic injuries in the crash. Her fiancé was treated at the scene for some minor injuries.
Investigators identified 29-year-old Nicholas Woods as a person of interest in the crash.
