Pet spa owner charged with another nine counts of animal cruelty

Paw Spa owner Michelle Burt appeared before a Franklin County judge Tuesday.

The owner of the Pasco-based animal-grooming business is accused of strangling pets after several owners complained.

Action News learned Burt is now charged with 12 counts of animal cruelty, nine more than she originally faced.

Tuesday's hearing added the new charges and set Burt's next three court appearances but her attorney said he'll be moving to separate each of the 12 counts against her in the future.

Until that happens, she's next scheduled to appear on April 16, with a May 29 trial date.
