DALLAS, Ore. – A 19-year-old died in a crash on Highway 99W near Dallas Friday evening, Oregon State Police said.

State troopers and emergency personnel responded to the two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Clow Corner Road and Highway 99W, southeast of Dallas, around 7:30 p.m.

Investigators say 19-year-old Rosa Maria Rocha-Torres, of Salem, was driving a Chrysler 200 and was stopped at the intersection. They say she tried to pull onto the highway and as she was doing so, she drove into the path of a Jeep Renegade, driven by Kevin Ruffino, 32, of Independence. The Jeep struck the driver’s side of her vehicle.

Rocha-Torres died at the scene. Her two female passengers were transported to Salem Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ruffino suffered minor injuries.
