Police: Armed robbery suspects crash vehicle during pursuit; one person killed

MARION COUNTY, Ore. – Oregon State Police say one person died when a group of armed robbery suspects crashed a vehicle during a pursuit in Marion County Thursday evening.

Oregon State Police say troopers located a stolen vehicle on Interstate 5 near Albany at around 6:20 p.m. They say the vehicle and the occupants were connected to several armed robberies in the Eugene area.

When troopers tried to stop the vehicle, but the occupants continued driving, leading troopers on a chase. The driver of the vehicle lost control on Hochspeier Road near the Highway 164 intersection, just north of Jefferson, and rolled the vehicle several times.

The driver died in the crash. OSP identified her as 30-year-old Amber Mosey of St. Helens.

The other occupants were taken to Salem Hospital with serious injuries.

The Eugene Police Department is continuing to investigate the occupants in connection to the armed robberies.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
