Police arrest stabbing suspect in NE Portland, victim in hospital

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police arrested someone accused of stabbing a boy in Northeast Portland on Thursday afternoon.

Witnesses started calling 9-1-1 about 2:30 p.m. to report that someone was threatening others with knives near NE 12th Avenue and Glisan Street. The suspect is also accused of breaking out a car window with a rock and stabbing a juvenile male.

The juvenile was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, Portland Police said.

The 9-1-1 callers were keeping police updated on the suspect’s whereabouts, and officers took him into custody near NE 13th Avenue and Lloyd Boulevard.

Police said he had several knives on him at the time.

Officials will release the suspect’s name and charges once he’s been booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
