Police: Driver dies after ejected from vehicle in I-5 crash

Oregon State Police responded to a crash on I-5 in Marion County around 3 AM Saturday.

The investigation determined that a 1995 Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on the interstate when for an unknown reason, the driver lost control and overturned in the median.

The operator was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was slowed to one lane for around three hours, police say.

The name of the driver will be released once next of kin are notified.

The Oregon State Police was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff's office, Jefferson Fire District and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
