Police find evidence of gunfire in Northeast Portland neighborhood

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Police Bureau is investigating a shooting in Northeast Portland that was reported early Tuesday morning.

Dispatch received calls reporting gunfire at 2:53 a.m. in the 300 block of Northeast Morgan Street.

Officers responded to this call, but did not find evidence of gunfire.

Then, at 5:47 a.m., a resident in the area found evidence of gunfire on the sidewalk of Northeast Morgan Street and contacted the Bureau of Emergency Communications.

Officers returned to the scene and found a home on the east side of the 300 block of Northeast Morgan Street with damage, likely the result of gunfire.

Police say the residence was unoccupied.

No injuries were reported at the scene and no one arrived at nearby hospitals with gunshot injuries.

Police did not locate any suspects.

Based on information learned at the scene, Portland Police Bureau Tactical Operations Division’s Gang Enforcement Team will take over the investigation.
