PORTLAND, Ore. – Police identified the man who was found shot and killed in a Northeast Portland park on Monday night.

The state medical examiner confirmed that the victim, Cody B. Oller, 25, of Portland, died of a gunshot wound.

Officers found Oller dead in Fernhill Park at about 9:30 p.m. while investigating reports of gunfire in the area.

"At this time we’re asking that any neighbors in the area that may have seen anything or may have surveillance cameras that caught any vehicles or people coming or going from the area to contact the Portland Police Bureau," said Sgt. Chris Burley, spokesman for Portland police.

If you have any helpful information, police want you to call (503) 823-3774.

Neighbor Bradley Johnson says he has lived in the area for nearly two years and while he says he's noticed some questionable activity at times he never expected something like this to happen.

"I've experience glass shattering and cars abandoned here very seldom, but there were some things where I definitely knew there was activity going on that wasn't safe," Johnson said. "It's awful but it's definitely got me more aware of some things."

Police investigators say they believe this shooting was an isolated incident and neighbors shouldn't be worried.
