PORTLAND, Ore. – Homicide investigators say the person found dead near Portland State University early Tuesday morning died from a gunshot wound, and police are still looking for the shooter.

The victim, 21-year-old Diego Tejada-Manzo of Vancouver, was found dead on SW Montgomery Street just before 1 a.m.

One witness told KATU News that Tejada-Manzo was arguing with another man in the street before they both opened fire.

Police said they don’t believe there is any threat to public safety. At this point they have not arrested a shooter in the case.

Campus Public Safety says Tejada-Manzo is not affiliated with the university.

Some of PSU's buildings were shut down for a brief amount of time as the investigation around the campus unfolded, but by Tuesday morning everything was back to normal on the campus - except for the students who lived right above the crime scene. Some of them were guided across the street by police so they did not compromise the investigation by stepping on any evidence.

Anyone with information should call the police non-emergency line at 503-823-3333 or the detective division at 503-823-0400.
