Police identify suspect arrested in connection to Portland Burgerville carjacking
PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland police identified the suspect they arrested in connection to a carjacking that occurred in the drive-thru of a Southeast Portland Burgerville Tuesday.
Wednesday, police said the suspect is 25-year-old Robin Sanford Bay.
Police say the carjacking occurred at the Burgerville on Southeast 12th Avenue at Hawthorne Street at around 11:40 a.m. Tuesday. A man told police another man approached him, demanded his pickup, and threatened to hurt him with a bottle.
About 20 minutes later police received reports of a pickup blocking a driveway along Cesar Chavez Boulevard. They arrived to find the stolen Ford.
While officers were checking the area, they were flagged down by a witness who said they saw a man rob someone of their cell phone. The suspect’s description matched the one from the carjacking earlier.
Officers arrested the suspect several blocks away on Northeast Glisan Street.
