Police identify woman killed by hit-and-run driver in SE Portland, police seek suspect
PORTLAND, Ore. – Detectives are looking for the driver that left the scene after hitting and killing a pedestrian in Southeast Portland earlier this month.
Police identified the victim as Yelena V. Loukas, 53, of Portland.
According to investigators, Loukas was crossing SE Stark in the crosswalk at 148th Avenue at around 1 a.m. when she was struck by a driver.
Officers searched for the vehicle, but did not locate a suspect. They believe the hit-and-run suspect's vehicle is a white or silver four-door sedan that may have front-end damage.
Stark Street is on the city’s list of high-crash corridors, and this particular intersection is among Portland’s deadliest locations.
