Police: Man sent email to Oregon Lottery office threatening to shoot and kill people
SALEM, Ore. – Oregon State Police took a man into custody who they say threatened to shoot and kill people at the Oregon Lottery Headquarters Office in Salem Tuesday.
Police say Jason David Ouellette, 42, from Lebanon, was apprehended for menacing, but was released Tuesday night because of jail overcrowding and because his charge is a misdemeanor.
Investigators say Ouellette sent an email to the lottery office that contained an imminent threat to shoot and kill people. Oregon State Police Gaming Enforcement Detectives and Major Crimes Detectives began investigating the threat.
