Police: Man shot on division street, officers unable to locate suspect

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police say one person was shot in Southeast Portland early Thursday morning.

Officers responded to Portland Adventist Hospital at 4:21 a.m. after learning a gunshot victim was being treated in the emergency department.

When officers arrived, they learned the man who had been shot arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle.

Hospital officials expect the man will survive.

Police say the shooting occurred near a residence near Southeast 112th Avenue and Southeast Division Street.

Officers went to the shooting scene on Southeast Division Street and found evidence of gunfire on the sidewalk.

Police did not locate a suspect when they searched the shooting scene.

The victim was taken from Portland Adventist Hospital to a trauma hospital in the Portland area for further treatment.

Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau will continue to investigate.
