Police: Man shot while sitting in parked vehicle in northeast Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland police say a man was shot while sitting in his parked vehicle at the Glasshouse Tavern shortly after midnight Wednesday.

Officers responded to the report of a victim with gunshot wounds at the Shell Gas Station located at 9920 Northeast Sandy Boulevard at 12:21 a.m.

When emergency personnel arrived, they found a 31-year-old man with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The victim was taken to a hospital in an ambulance.

Investigators learned the victim was seated in his parked car at the Glasshouse Tavern at 9710 Northeast Sandy Boulevard when a suspect fired multiple gunshots at him and his vehicle.

After the shooting, police believe the suspect entered a vehicle and drove away in an unknown direction.

After he was shot, police say the suspect drove himself to the Shell Gas Station where he was provided medical aid and contacted police.

Investigators found evidence of gunfire in the parking lot of the Glasshouse Tavern. They also found bullet strikes on the suspect’s vehicle.

Police say the Gang Enforcement Team has taken over the investigation.
