Police serve 'high risk' search warrant at Southeast Portland home
PORTLAND, Ore. – A large police presence is at the scene of a home in Southeast Portland Thursday morning while officers serve a “high risk” search warrant.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired at Southeast 137th Avenue and Foster Road before 10 a.m.
Initial reports state the warrant is related to a report of a theft of a motor vehicle that led to a shooting back in December. The Portland Police Bureau Special Emergency Reaction Team and Gang Enforcement Team were at the scene.
Neighbors tell our reporters they heard gunshots and what could have been an explosion coming from the home.
"I was sleeping and I woke up to a really loud bang I believe they were exploding his door or something. And then a SWAT officer knocks on the door and says 'stay in the house, we have a search warrant for the neighbor, he has guns or something,'" said Vladimir Pylypko, who lives next door.
Authorities have not yet released information on whether they made any arrests.
