Police: Suspect swings metal pole at homeowner when confronted about stealing packages

PORTLAND, Ore. – A theft suspect tried to hit a homeowner with a metal hook Wednesday after he was confronted about trying to take packages off of a front porch, Portland Police said.

The reported theft happened in the 3600 block of SE Lincoln Street.

According to police, the victim confronted the man about an attempted package theft when the suspect tried to hit him with a hooked metal pole.

The victim took a photo of the suspect before he walked south on SE 34th Avenue.

He’s described as a white man in his 50s, about 5-foot 10-inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build.
