Portland-area man accused of aggravated animal abuse, sexual assault of an animal
A 51-year-old was arrested Wednesday on charges of animal abuse and sexually assaulting an animal.
Portland Police’s Sex Crimes Unit has not released many details in the case, which started on December 4, 2018, citing an ongoing investigation.
According to jail records, Fidel Lopez was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on aggravated animal abuse and sexual assault of an animal – both class C felony charges.
His bail is set at $10,000.
Investigators say they’ve been working with Dove Lewis Animal Hospital, Multnomah County Animal Services, Oregon State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Oregon State Police’s Forensic Services Division, and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
