PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland City Council is giving area pot shops a break.
The city just passed an ordinance that lowers the fees it charges cannabis-based businesses.
It's also reducing the amount for a marijuana license by about $1,500.
City Commissioner Chloe Eudaly says this is part of a planned overhaul of the rules surrounding marijuana.
The changes will be phased in once a study of the industry is completed.
