Portland police ask demonstrators to leave weapons at home ahead of downtown rallies

The Patriot Prayer group gathered Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Terry Schrunk Plaza in Portland for the “Freedom and Courage” rally. Across the street, Antifa members protested. Department of Homeland Security officers surrounded the plaza to keep the two groups separate. After the rally, Patriot Prayer marched, but the march turned violent and police declared it a riot after projectiles were used and people were injured. Photo by Amanda Butt
