Police respond to stabbing, arrest man on assault charge

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police officers arrested a man after responding to a report of a stabbing in Southwest Portland early Monday morning.

Officers said the disturbance occurred in the 100 block of Southwest Orchid Court around 2 a.m.

Police said one man suffered a non-life-threating injury and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Detectives assisted with the investigation and took 21-year-old Tristin C. Vermilyea into custody and lodged him in the Multnomah County Jail.

He was booked on an second-degree assault charge.
