'Portland sign' will be completely reassembled within the week
PORTLAND, Ore. – An iconic sight is being reinstalled in its rightful place in downtown Portland Thursday.
The “Portland sign” will be fully assembled at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in the next four days.
In May, the sign was taken down for extensive renovations.
The 33-year-old sign will look about the same when it’s reinstalled.
But, it will have a fresh coat of pain and brighter neon letters.
The city will celebrate the renovated sign on August 16 with a re-lighting ceremony.
