Rideshare rape suspect in US illegally
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement public affairs officer Tanya Roman, the suspect from a December rape is in the United States illegally.
Israel Ramos-Islas, 34, is accused of posing as a rideshare driver and luring a 27-year-old woman into his car, driving her to White Center where he raped her and then driving her home.
According to King County Sheriff's spokesperson Ryan Abbott, Ramos-Islas is also being investigated for two other similar incidents.
A woman came forward saying Romas-Islas prowled her in August 2018.
Sgt. Abbott said the man picked this woman up within a block of the same bar as the 27-year-old woman.
Abbott said the man dropped her off at home only to come back and try and break-in to her home.
In December, a man claiming to be a rideshare driver approached a woman outside a bar in Fremont and attempted to pick up a woman waiting for a rideshare. The woman declined to go with the man, but investigators believe the man was Ramos-Islas.
Ramos-Islas is being held on $750,000 bail. His arraignment is set for April 22.
