PORTLAND, Ore. – Snow showers are continuing across the Portland/Vancouver area and other parts of the Willamette Valley on Wednesday afternoon. However, Meteorologist Rhonda Shelby still says the snow will not stick.

Even though the region saw snow falling for hours, temperatures were well above freezing level. Almost all the snow is melting as soon as it hits the ground, with exceptions in higher elevation areas and some secondary roads.

Shelby predicts the rain showers will be off and on Wednesday afternoon before eventually turning to rain in the evening hours.

Road temperatures were too warm for snow to stick in most places, excluding side streets in higher elevation areas.

Rhonda Shelby says the area can expect similar weather Thursday morning at elevations above 500 feet.

There could be icy spots on some roads overnight, forecasters said.
