PORTAND, Ore. — Portland police say someone injured in a shooting Tuesday night in Southeast Portland has died.

The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. at the Motel 6 near Southeast Powell and 31st.

When police arrived, they found a victim with life-threatening injuries who was taken to the hospital, where they later died.

Police say they have a person of interest in custody.

Police say they believe there were witnesses to the shooting who have not yet come forward.
