Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man wanted for dragging a North Plains police officer while fleeing from a traffic stop last weekend.

Deputies said they arrested William Callaway, 32, Monday afternoon at a home in Aloha.

A K-9 unit from Hillsboro police helped capture Callaway.

Callaway is accused of assault, reckless driving and other crimes after deputies said a North Plains police officer tried to pull him over on Highway 26 on Tuesday, Jan. 15.

The officer suffered minored injuries and was treated and released.
