Suspect robs Portland cell phone store at knifepoint

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are searching for a man who robbed a Southeast Portland store at knifepoint on Tuesday evening.

Employees at the Metro PCS store on SE Division Street told Portland Police that a man holding a 12-inch knife walked into the store about 6:30 p.m. and demanded money.

According to police, the man directed employees into a back room while brandishing the blade and left with some cash.

Officers searched the neighborhood, however they could not find the suspect.

He’s described as about 6-foot 2-inches tall, with a thin build.

Roughly two hours later, police were called out to a Dutch Bros. coffee stand on SE Holgate on reports of a robbery attempt. Police are searching for that suspect as well.
