All lanes of I-5 South reopen near Keizer following tanker truck crash

The Oregon Department of Transportation opened all southbound lane of Interstate 5 Thursday morning near the scene where a tanker truck crashed Wednesday night.

The overturned double tanker truck was leaking fuel into a ditch along the southbound lanes of I-5 after it crashed Wednesday night.

According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, two lanes of the freeway were blocked in Keizer at milepost 261. One lane remained open overnight and a second lane reopened around 5 a.m. All lanes reopened at 8 a.m.

Hazmat crews responded to the scene. Marion County Fire says it sent three engines there.

Drivers are encouraged to use another route or expect delays.
