Teen pistol-whipped during SE Portland robbery, police seek 2 suspects
PORTLAND, Ore. – A teenager is recovering at the hospital after police say he was pistol-whipped during a robbery at the Creston Outdoor Pool in Southeast Portland overnight Tuesday.
According to police, the victim was swimming at the pool with a group of friends when about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday two men walked up to them and started going through their stuff.
The victim confronted the suspects, and one of them hit him; police believe the suspect used the “hard surface of a firearm.”
The suspects ran off towards SE Powell Boulevard from the Creston Outdoor Pool.
Both suspects were between 18 and 21 years old. One had a medium build, a goatee, and was wearing all black clothing. The other had a faded haircut, and was wearing all white clothing.
Police searched the area but couldn’t find anyone matching the descriptions from witnesses.
