Three members of the Clark County Technical Rescue Team were honored for their heroism Tuesday night.

County commissioners paid tribute to Capt. Scott Johns and firefighters Bill Dunlap and Tony Lothspeich of Station 61.

The three men are also members of the Technical Rope Rescue Team.

Back in May, they got a call that two people fell out of their raft on the Washougal River and were trapped between rocks.

They saved a woman, but her husband didn't make it.

“I cry easy as it is. But I like to see those guys get recognized. They deserve it,” Dunlap said tearing up.

Dunlap coordinated the rescue but deflected credit. He said five agencies played a role that day.
