A mix of freezing rain and snow Sunday has left Portland metro roads slick and extremely dangerous.

If you can, avoid driving or getting on the roads. A Winter Weather Advisory expires at 10 p.m. Sunday.

Officials shut down Interstate 5 on the approach to the Marquam Bridge because of several stalled vehicles around 1 p.m. By 1:30 p.m., one lane of traffic opened up.

PBOT is requiring drivers use traction tires or chains on West Burnside as of 4:30 p.m. Our reporters spotted several cars abandoned on the side of the street.

There's also a crash on Interstate 84 at the Interstate 5 northbound interchange blocking all lanes.

All southbound lanes of Interstate 5 at the Interstate Bridge were briefly closed around 6:30 p.m. due to multiple stalled and disabled semis. Though the lanes have reopened, traffic remains backed up for miles.
