TriMet: Police activity interrupts MAX and bus service at Gateway Transit Center
PORTLAND, Ore. – TriMet says several MAX lines were not serving the Gateway Transit Center for about a half hourTuesday morning because of police activity in the area.
Police said they were checking a suspicious package nearby, but it turned out to be nothing dangerous. They cleared the scene around 10:20 a.m.
During the investigation, the MAX Blue, Green and Red lines did not stop at the area.
TriMet tweeted shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday saying the trains will still pass through the transit center, but they would not open their doors.
Also, bus lines 15, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 87 were affected by the police activity
TriMet said they had shuttle buses traveling between Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast 99th Avenue and Northeast Pacific Street to connect between trains and the transit area.
