A trooper with Idaho State Police was injured in a crash Sunday afternoon, escorting the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree.

An Idaho State Police Trooper was injured in a head-on collision early Sunday afternoon, according to dispatch.

ISP says Brandalyn Crapo was leading the motorcade escorting the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree from McCall. People were slowing down to look at the tree, when a Dodge pickup being driven by Michael Shields swerved into oncoming traffic, crashing into the trooper.

Crapo was airlifted to Saint Alphonsus Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries, according to state police.
