Unipiper hit by porch pirate, shirts stolen

A still image from video The Unipiper posted on social media of a porch pirate stealing a box of t-shirts.

He's a Portland icon, but that didn't save the Unipiper from becoming a victim of theft.

Brian Kidd posted video on social media of a porch pirate stealing a box of Unipiper t-shirts just delivered to his house.

Kidd says this is the second time he's been hit.

He blames the city's homeless and drug problems for a rise in crime.

"You see drug paraphernalia, needles on the ground, and I've lived in the same neighborhood for 7 years now and never had a problem like this until last December when it happened the first time," he said.

A recent study from the packaging company Shorr found Portland to be the fifth worst place in the country for porch pirates.
