VANCOUVER, Wash.- A Vancouver man recently hit a grand slam with his baseball card collection. A rare find could earn him $20,000.

“This will be the best card I’ve ever broke in my life,” said Steve Tingwall who owns Columbia Sports, a card collector’s shop in Vancouver.

In a YouTube video posted online, he was opening a shipment of cards when he saw something that shocked him.

An Italian card company, known as Panini, featured a surprise in one box he opened. One card with two of baseball’s all-time greats, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig and their signatures.

“Arguably, Babe Ruth is the best player ever. I mean, in my opinion, he probably was. He’s done things that nobody’s done. And yeah, to have that opportunity – I mean, I’ve had – I’ve had a card shop or been in the card business 15 years and I’ve never seen it,” Tingwall said.

He says only 13 cards with Gehrig and Ruth on them and their autographs are known to exist.

He’s already received a $20,000 offer for the card, but he says that’s just an initial bid.
