VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Vancouver Education Association says it could go on strike Aug. 29.

The group released a statement Monday night saying the union authorized the move as it seeks a reasonable settlement offer from the district.

The Vancouver School District says it is committed to negotiating around the clock to reach a fair agreement.

Bargaining resumes Tuesday.
