Vancouver family asks for help after service dog loses eye in attack
VANCOUVER, Wash. – A woman’s service dog was recently attacked in Vancouver, and her family is now looking for help covering the vet bill.
The family said that Louie was attacked by another dog, and he lost an eye as a result.
Louie serves as a companion for a Paytin, a girl with special needs.
“He’s not a dog to my daughter. He’s her lifeline. He’s the only thing that she has that calms her down,” said Paytin’s mom, Misty Wilcox.
Wilcox is on a fixed income and is having trouble paying the $800 vet bill.
If you'd like to help defray some of the cost, the family has set up a Gofundme page.
