VIDEO: Man caught on surveillance cam trying to break into home

A man spent nearly 4 minutes banging against a Marion County home, trying to break inside of it Thursday morning.

According to deputies, the homeowner wasn't home at the time of the break-in and got an alert on his phone via his Ring doorbell that someone was trying to break into his house. He immediately called 911.

Deputies arrived moments later, but couldn't find the suspects inside the house. A couple matching the original description given by the victim via his Ring camera was found shortly after and placed in custody.

Apollo Charles Biggs, 38, and Sheryl Annette Loschiavo, 38, were arrested; Loschiavo is facing conspiracy, unlawful possession of meth and attempted burglary charges, and Biggs is facing attempted burglary, criminal mischief and parole violation charges.

The Sheriff's Office would like to offer these safety tips to keep your home safe and secure especially during the holiday season:

Tip #1 -- Keep your travel plans offline, if you are going to be away from your home it is best to keep travel plans off of social media.

Tip #2- Let someone you trust know you will be away and to check on your home periodically.

Tip #3- Hide all holiday gifts out of plain sight and do not let packages stay on your front porch for extended periods of time.

Tip #4 -- Lighting is very important; make sure all outside lighting is in good working order.

Tip #5 -- Make sure to keep all doors and windows locked.
