BEAVERTON, Ore. – A man who reportedly convinced a 13-year-old boy to let him inside his home to use the restroom and then inappropriately touched the child has turned himself in, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.

The incident allegedly occurred Monday at around 3:15 p.m. when a 13-year-old boy was walking home from school near Southwest 170th Avenue and Southwest Sarala Street in Beaverton.

According to investigators, a man approached and convinced the boy to let him inside the child's home so he could use the restroom.

After the man finished in the restroom, deputies say he walked out of the bathroom and touched the boy in an inappropriate, unwanted sexual manner. He also asked the boy to perform a sexual act, authorities said.

The boy immediately told the man to leave, and he did, investigators say.

The sheriff's office said a man turned himself in to authorities shortly before 3 p.m.

Detectives are working on interviewing the man.
