Washington man in cardiac arrest, crashes truck into car, dies

A 46-year-old truck driver went into cardiac arrest Wednesday on an Oregon highway, drove into the opposing lane of traffic and crashed into a car, Oregon State Police said.

Dwayne Kemp of Tacoma, Washington was pronounced dead at Providence Hospital in Newberg, OSP said.

The crashed happened at about 6 a.m. on Highway 99W about a mile south of Dundee.

Police said Kemp’s tractor-trailer crashed into a 2005 Hyundai SUV. The driver and the passenger in the car were taken to Willamette Valley Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.

They were both wearing their seat belts.
