PORTLAND, Ore. – A woman’s surprise on the Portland Streetcar is catching a lot of attention on social media.

Alek Caswell, 22, said she boarded the Portland Streetcar Monday with her foster dog, Lulabelle.

Another man boarded the bus and she said he “stared at me and Lulabelle on my lap for a solid 30 seconds.”

Then, the man spoke to Caswell, but what he said and did next was unexpected.

Caswell tweeted saying the man asked, “’Are you allowed to have dogs on the bus?’”

Caswell said, “I just shrugged thinking he was going to give me s--- or something.”

But then, out of nowhere, the man pulled out a chihuahua!

Caswell’s tweet has been liked more than 355,000 times and retweeted more than 85,000 times.
