WSU student who nearly died after fall from dorm window returns home
SEATTLE -- A Washington State University student who nearly died after a fall from a dorm window is finally back home in Seattle.
Matthew Gray fell just days after starting school in Pullman last August and suffered a serious brain injury.
He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and then taken to Denver for intensive rehabilitation.
On Friday, he arrived in Seattle greeted by friends and family. Gray said he is most excited to see his dog now that he is home.
After the holidays, Gray will head to a group home in Nebraska where he will re-learn essential life skills and continue to heal his brain.
His dad is now fighting for WSU to add safety features to dorm windows to prevent falls like this from happening again.
