WW: 'Alt-Vaxx': Local pediatrician claims vaccines cause autism

Vaccine hesitancy is one of the top 10 threats to global health this year, according to the World Health Organization.

Medical experts say many people believe what some doctors are now calling “the vaccine-autism myth,” and one Beaverton doctor became a best-selling author and a leader of the anti-vax movement by coining the phrase “pro-informed consent.”

That’s the topic of this week’s Willamette Week cover story, “Alt-Vaxx.”

WW spoke with Dr. Paul Thomas, and WW’s News Editor Aaron Mesh joined KATU’s Steve Dunn in the studio Wednesday to discuss Thomas’s views.
