It’s no secret. The Silicon Forest is growing.

In just the last year, the tech industry in the Portland-Metro area added 3,600 tech jobs, according to a new report by the Computing Technology Industry Association.

That same study also revealed the tech industry pumped more than $24 billion back into the economy, and it shows no signs of slowing.

Willamette Week’s Maria Caicedo discussed this year’s TechFestNW when she joined KATU’s Steve Dunn on Wednesday in the studio.

“It’s focusing on four different themes this year,” Caicedo said. “We have food tech, we have health tech, we have smart cities, smart transit, and we have inclusivity and tech culture.”
